World Interfaith Harmony Week is organized in Edmonton by the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action, a charitable organization that develops and sponsors many diverse programs as we work to create a more harmonious and respectful community.
The World Interfaith Harmony Week was first proposed at the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2010 by H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan. Just under a month later, on October 20, 2010, it was unanimously adopted by the UN. Since then, the first week of February is observed as a World Interfaith Harmony Week.
The Mayor of City of Edmonton proclaimed February 1-7, 2021 to be “World Interfaith Harmony Week” in the city. The proclamation can be seen here
